Kendra Foisie Rice was born and raised in Houston, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in English Literature from the University of Houston. Kendra began her graduate studies at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island where she studied Holistic Counseling and received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Professional Applications of the Expressive and Creative Arts, before returning home to Texas to earn her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University.
Kendra takes a holistic approach to counseling and believes that true health and wellness requires balance of mind, body, and spirit. She is passionate about meeting her clients where they are, and incorporates existential and cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as expressive arts modalities into her practice. Kendra creates a friendly, down-to-earth, and no-nonsense space for healing, believing that authenticity is an essential component to the therapeutic relationship, and that every small action has the potential to create big change.
Kendra enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families ages 10 and up, and provides a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients. Kendra specializes in pregnancy and postpartum issues for individuals and families and can be found on both Postpartum Support International and the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas’ list of qualified practitioners for perinatal care. Kendra also has proficiency in working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, and challenging relationships.
